Scholarships and Grants are an excellent way to fund your education. Merit scholarships are offered to students based on their admissions applications and do not require additional applications to be considered.  Additional campus scholarships are available through our Competitive Scholarships Application, some scholarships may require additional questions beyond the general application and make sure to check back often for new scholarship listings.

Mastercard Cybersecurity Scholarships - for Spring 2019

Mastercard is proud to offer 4 x $2500 (total $10,000) in scholarships to students pursuing a Cybersecurity program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Number of Available Awards: 4
Scholarship Award Amount: $2500 each
Application Deadline: Thursday, November 8, 2018 by 11:59 p.m. Central Time

Each of the four $2500 scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, potential impact of scholarship award on the student, financial need, likelihood of successful completion of a cybersecurity focused curriculum and transitioning into full-time cybersecurity related work, and other criteria as determined by the scholarship award committee.

Eligibility Criteria

These are competitive scholarships. Minimum eligibility criteria include:

  1. You must be either a current or prospective student, enrolled for Spring 2019 semester, in at least one of the following programs:
    1. Undergraduate Certificate in Cybersecurity
    2. Undergraduate Minor in Cybersecurity
    3. Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity
  2. (-If you have not already declared the certificate or minor, you may do so by Nov 8, 2018 to be eligible for the scholarship. Please talk to your academic advisor to declare your certificate/minor in cybersecurity.
    -For prospective students, awards are contingent on proof of enrollment in Spring 2019.

  3. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the current or most recent program
  4. Scholarship Awardees must commit to attending and possibly speaking at an official scholarship awards ceremony to be held during our STLCyberCon conference on November 16, 2018. The scholarship ceremony will be held sometime between 10am to 1pm on Nov 16 at the JC Penney Conference Center Auditorium.

Evaluation and Award Procedure

  1. The scholarship committee will evaluate all applications and announce the results by Tuesday, Nov 13, 2018.
  2. Scholarship amounts will be credited to your student account for Spring 2019

U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) / Cybersecurity Scholarship Program (CySP)

  • Available to U.S. Citizens only
  • Possibility to obtain, for one year, full tuition support, book allowance, healthcare allowance, one U.S. Conference attendance, and a living-expenses stipend of $25000 for full-time undergraduate students and $30000 for graduate students
  • In return, students commit to working for the DoD (across any one of the many agencies/offices of the DoD) for at least 1-year for a 1-year (or even 1-semester) award. Failing to do so, implies that the student will reimburse the DoD for all or part of the scholarship award as determined by the DoD
